Access to Training for PA's and Carers


Free Training for Direct Payment Employers

A free programme for individual employers in receipt of a Direct Payment or a Personal Health Budget.

The training & support programme is run from August 2017 to February 2018, with a 2½ hour session each month. The programme will be part training and part peer learning and support.  Topics featured over the 7 months will focus on the key aspects of being a good employer, including recruiting a personal assistant, induction & training for your PA, contracts of employment, arranging pay, tax and pensions, and building a good working relationship. The programme will also explore health and safety, safeguarding and dealing with conduct and performance issues.

 The programme will be relaxed and informal with the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences, participate in discussions, and get to know others dealing with similar employer issues. It will benefit those currently employing a PA or contracting a self-employed PA or considering becoming an employer.

 Some assistance with transport can be provided and help with the cost of covering attendance on the programme can be arranged if required.
